Orchard Roofing & Building were contracted by LNER & National Rail to carry out a full replacement of the Grantham Station entrance canopy.
Grantham railway station is on the East Coast Main Line within Grantham, Lincolnshire. The station is situated between Peterborough and Newark North Gate, just over 100 miles from Kings Cross station in London. The town itself has a population of 45,000. The historic station, built in 1852 also has lines to both Skegness and Nottingham.
The previous Georgian glazed canopy had come to the end of its life, requiring replacement to maintain industry standards. We installed the replacement glazed canopy to maintain the Georgian look of the station, including original cast iron columns. The result is one that's both weatherproofed and aesthetically pleasing. Our PTS approved team worked to complete the project with minimal disruption and to a high level of workmanship which in turn we believe will last for many years to come.
Grantham Station have been very pleased with the way you have all conducted yourselves, and the finished product is beyond ours and the stations expectations.
