Orchard Roofing & Building were sub-contracted by Colt Construction in 2020 to undertake full roof refurbishment works on the historic Hebden Bridge Station.

The station sees over three quarters of a million passsengers each year, and is the only station on the Calder Valley Line where every service calls.

The Grade II listed building required major roofing works for modernisation whilst retaining the traditional look of the station. This includes:

• Complete re-roof of all 3 pitched roof sections in slate, including batten replacement, membrane installation and new roof insulation
• Full replacement of one roof in Accoya timber
• Sika liquid applied waterproofing to all flat roof areas
• Repairs to structural timbers and other components within pitched roof areas
• Upgraded roof drainage system, as well as fascia and cladding repairs
• New top floor windows produced and installed
• Signal box redecoration 
• Lead flashing to all external roof areas

The Orchard Roofing & Building team worked through the Covid-19 pandemic adopting safe working practices including social distancing measures to deliver the project safely.
