About this Project

Orchard was instructed by KIER and the client NEXUS to completely remove the glazed canopies over the station platforms at the historic and listed Whitley bay station in the northeast of England.

We carefully and removed the old glazing and allowed for other trades to carry out the essential repair works. Once the Painting was completed, we installed the new Twinfix glazing system along with lining the cast iron gutters with Alumasc gutter system liquid liner.

Both Kier and Nexus found working with Orchard an successfully and easy experience both being delighted with the hard work of the team and the company ethics and safety values.

The project was delivered on time and to budget with the extra over works needed to complete the project accommodated with in the project timelines.
